手語(yǔ)是非常有力的表達(dá)形式,往往能言善達(dá)。數(shù)百年來(lái),佛像慣用手印來(lái)傳法,無(wú)言地導(dǎo)人向善。北京畫(huà)家劉學(xué)軍使用不同手語(yǔ)作為他的創(chuàng)作符號(hào),演繹、反映及細(xì)說(shuō)他對(duì)一事一物的敏銳感覺(jué),反思并描繪出他的內(nèi)心世界。在三月底,精藝軒畫(huà)廊將展出《手若能言》系列油畫(huà)作品,展示劉學(xué)軍在這方面所投放的精力。
劉學(xué)軍畫(huà)的手在攥拳頭時(shí),表情細(xì)膩,視覺(jué)形象刻畫(huà)得十分生動(dòng)。豊富的感情,呼之欲出,富有獨(dú)特表現(xiàn)力,部份畫(huà)面結(jié)合清晰的標(biāo)語(yǔ)、口號(hào),對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)生活輕松調(diào)侃,傳達(dá)著鮮明的時(shí)代感。
劉學(xué)軍的創(chuàng)作表達(dá)方式明確,擁有畫(huà)家的敏銳觸覺(jué)及對(duì)現(xiàn)實(shí)的獨(dú)立觀察和判斷;他的大部份作品是他對(duì)中國(guó)現(xiàn)實(shí)歷史轉(zhuǎn)型期的親身感受,是他對(duì)自身文化的反省。他的畫(huà)在傳達(dá)強(qiáng)烈而明確的信息,是他對(duì)所指事物現(xiàn)象的本質(zhì)的看法,再透過(guò)相近于廣告宣傳畫(huà)的方式傳遞信息。
劉學(xué)軍1960年出生于河南省,八十年代在北京接受中央美術(shù)學(xué)院講師蘇高禮、馬常利的藝術(shù)指導(dǎo),曾獲星星畫(huà)展主將之一黃銳的藝術(shù)指點(diǎn),并與北京當(dāng)?shù)厮囆g(shù)家一起進(jìn)行創(chuàng)作。在考入河南大學(xué)美術(shù)系學(xué)習(xí)期間,曾主修版畫(huà)專(zhuān)業(yè),進(jìn)行大量版畫(huà)創(chuàng)作,對(duì)德國(guó)表現(xiàn)主義版畫(huà)甚感興趣。在學(xué)期間,對(duì)歷史學(xué)、文學(xué)、政治學(xué)頗感興趣,自覺(jué)對(duì)將來(lái)從事批判性藝術(shù)打下一定的修養(yǎng)基礎(chǔ)。大學(xué)畢業(yè)后常往返于北京河南之間,與北京的藝術(shù)界保持了密切聯(lián)系,不斷進(jìn)行藝術(shù)創(chuàng)作。早期曾運(yùn)用寫(xiě)實(shí)主義、表現(xiàn)主義、照相寫(xiě)實(shí)主義、超現(xiàn)實(shí)主義的藝術(shù)理念和形式進(jìn)行繪畫(huà)探索。
好的視覺(jué)藝術(shù)作品能讓觀眾隨時(shí)隨地跨越種族與地域,獲得共同感受,促進(jìn)人與人之間互相了解,拉近距離。現(xiàn)實(shí)世界令人缺乏安定感,藝術(shù)家的繪畫(huà)作品正是在為人們提供著一種心靈補(bǔ)品,為人的“心靈”補(bǔ)充陽(yáng)光而默默耕耘。劉學(xué)軍就是一位在這方面堅(jiān)持走自己的創(chuàng)作路線的人。

Hand gestures are potent expressive instruments. They often come out stronger than words of mouth. In the up-coming exhibition in April, Speechless, at Art Beatus Gallery, Beijing-based artist Liu Xuejun manipulates the usage of hand forms as his creative icons for messages that he wishes to convey.
For hundreds of years, the hand signs of Buddhist statutes have been relating soul-soothing teachings. Such gestures of the hand need no further explanation with words. In his series of exhibits, Liu applied the same concept but differently. His hands, some of them distorted to accentuate his statements, were depicted to voice his speechless frustration, cynicism as well as anger.
Liu’s works, some of them in the propaganda poster format with highlighted slogans, are to reflect his sensitive observations of his environs and to articulate his attitudes on issues of the days of our life. He simply lets the fingers do all the talking.
Born in Henan Province in 1960, Liu initially honed his skills in the studios of various top Beijing oil teachers in the late 1980’s. Then, he returned home and finished his studies at the Fine Art Department of the Henan University. Liu said that he was particularly interested in the styles of realism, photo-realism, surrealism and expressionism and viewers can easily find them in his works.
Art Beatus Gallery is located on the ground floor of 35-39 Graham Street, Central, near the junction with Hollywood Road and Lyndhurst Terrace (SOHO Area).
